Kamakhya temple is a Hindu temple located in Nilachal Hill, Guwahati of Assam. The temple is dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya.  It is the goddess of desire. A mother goddess is also known as Kameshwari.  The temple is one of the most sacred Shaktipeethas. The temple is famous for black magic.  It is believed that the place where the womb of the goddess fell. It is synonymous with the supreme power of females and fertility. The temple timing is 8.00 am to 1.00 pm and 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

Navgraha Temple

Navagraha temple is a temple of nine major celestial bodies of Hindu astrology. These celestial bodies are named Surya, Chandra, Mangala, Buddha, Brihaspati, Shukra, Shani, Rahu, and Ketu. Navagraha temple is located at the top of Chitrasal Hills in the southeastern part of Guwahati. The temple was built by King Rajeshwar Singha in the 18th century. Umananda Temple

Peacock Island

Peacock Island is the smallest inhabited river in the middle of the river Brahmaputra. The British officer named it peacock island because its structure is like the feature of a peacock. It is also known as Bhasmachal. The word Bhasmachal is derived from the Bhasma means to destroy and Chal means place. Peacock island can be reached by boat from Karachi Ghat. The ferry timing to the island is from 7.00 am in the morning to 6.00 pm in the evening.

Guwahati Planetarium

Guwahati Planetarium is a center for astronomical education and research located in Guwahati, Assam of India. It is the only planetarium in the northeast states of India. It is a small building near the High Court of Assam. It was built in 1994. The show timings of the planetarium are from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm. It remains closed every month on the 1st and 15th. Saraighat Bridge is a bridge – cum- road over the Brahmaputra River located in Guwahati of Assam. The length of the bridge is 1492 meters and the width is 7.3 meters. It is the first type of bridge in the state. This bridge connects the north Assam and south Assam.  The bridge was originally built for Frontier Railway. The material used to construct the bridge was steel and concrete.

Regional Science Center

The regional science center is a museum activity-driven nonformal science education destination. It is located at Jawaharnagar, Khanapara, Guwahati. It is spread on 27 acres of land. The distance of the center from Guwahati Railway station is 11 km. The center was established in the year 1994.  The center has a science game, fun mirror, different types of experiments, 3D movies, and a science show. The time of the center is from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm and 3.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Nehru Park

Nehru Park is a small park located in the middle of Guwahati. The park has a flower garden, sculptors, a rock garden, an open-air theater, and a play area for children. It is the oldest public park in Assam. It was built in 2000. It is situated at a distance of 1 km from Guwahati Railway station.
