1. Raja’s Seat

It was believed that king Kovada was spending the evening at this place to view the scenic beauty of the valley. It is located near Rajdarshan Hotel, Stuart Hill, Madikeri, Karnataka. The distance of raja’s seat is 1 km from the Madikeri bus stand. The timing of the Raja’s seat is from6 AM to 8 PM. The entry fee of Rupees 5/ is required for Raja’s seat.

2. Madikeri Fort

Madikeri Fort is also called Mercara Fort. It is a historical landmark in Madikeri. Madikeri fort is located at Stuart Hill, Madikeri, Kodagu district of Karnataka state of India. It is a spacious and huge two-storied building 100 feet long. It is a 17-century structure built by the Mudduraja King.  Inside the fort, there is a temple, an Anglican Church, a prison, and Museum. The timing of the fort is from 10 AM to 5.30 PM. On every Monday the fort is closed.

8. Iruppu Water Falls

Iruppu Waterfall is a top tourist attraction in Coorg. It is also called Lakshmana Theertha plunges. It is a freshwater cascade. It is located in the Brahmagiri range of Coorg district in Karnataka. The water of falls is very cold during the month of December as the temperature reaches 12o C. The waterfalls from a height of 170 feet.  The Iruppu waterfall is 243 km from Bangalore, and 88 km from Madikeri. The visitor can go up to the waterfall point. 9. Dubare Elephant Camp

Dubare elephant camp gives the training to the elephant along with the safari ride. The activities in the camp are bathing, feeding, riding, and adventure.  You have to reach the elephant by boating at a charge of Rupees 80 /. The timing of the camp is from 9 am to 11 am and 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm.  There is a lodge and resort stay in the camp which provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Kaveri river is a holy place for Hindu religious people. It originated from the Talakaveri in the Brahmagiri range in the western ghat of Kodagu district in Karnataka. Brahmagiri Wildlife sanctuary is located on the border of the Kodagu district of Karnataka and the Wayanad district of Kerala. The height of the Brahmagiri hill is 1608 meters from sea level. 15. Tadiandamol Peak

Tadiandamol Peak or Thadiandamol peak is the highest peak in Coorg. The height of the peak is 1748 meters. It is located at Yerakpadi in the Kodagu district of Karnataka. It is a hiking area in western Ghat. Tadiandamol trek is famous among the trekking community. The trek starts from the Kakkabe. The distance of the trek is approximately 14 to 16 km. Best Time To reach Coorg

The best time to visit Coorg is from October to March as the weather during these months is pleasant and no rain. March to June is the summer season in Coorg. The temperature in the summer ranges between 15 Degree Celsius to 20 Degree Celsius.  July to September is the monsoon season in Coorg and definitely not the best time to visit as it experiences heavy rain.

Coorg does not have an airport or railway station. The nearest airport to Coorg is Mangalore airport at a distance of 135 km away. Mangalore has good connectivity of flights from different parts of India. The nearest railway station to Coorg is Mysore at a distance of 107 km away. Other nearest railway stations are Hassan and Mangalore. Coorg is well connected by road to Bangalore at distance 255, Mangalore 139 km, and Mysore118 km.  

Weather In Coorg

November to February is the winter season in Coorg. The maximum temperature of Coorg during the winter season is nearly 28 Degree Celsius. March to June is the summer season having temperatures between 20 Degree Celsius to 35 Degree Celsius. July to October is the rainy season and the temperature is nearly 23 Degree Celsius.
