E – pass, registration, and COVID protocol follow are mandatory for Chardham Yatra 2021. E- pass and registration are available on the online site. The devotees other than the Uttarakhand state of India are not allowed for Chardham yatra without these mandatory things. Other important things are restrictions on the number of persons allowed per day to different dhams, helicopter service, and packages are listed.
The Chardham yatra in India is pilgrimage yatra. Every year thousand to lakhs of devotees visit Chardham. But due to the corona situation, Chardham has some restrictions on devotees. This is for the mutual benefit of devotees and local people.

Chardham Yatra is a pilgrimage place of the Hindu religion located in the great Himalayas in the Uttarakhand state of India. The pilgrimage places are Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
Opening Dates For Chardham Yatra 2021
The opening date of Chardham Yatra is 18-09-2021. The closing date is not declared. Mostly the closing date will be tentatively 19 Nov 2021 on the holy day of Vijaya Dashami or Dussehra.
E – pass for Chardham Yatra
e-pass is mandatory for the devotees willing to go on Chardham Yatra. Without an e-pass entry will not be allowed. The e- pass can be obtained from Uttarakhand Chardham Devastanum Board’s official site (https://devasthanam.uk.gov.in) & ( https://badrinath-kedarnath.gov.in)
Online Registration 2021 For Chardham Yatra
Online registration is mandatory for the people coming from outside the state of Uttarakhand. Online registration is available on Uttarakhand Dehradun smart city portal (http://smartcitydehradun.uk.gov.in). Registration for the People from Uttarakhand state is not necessary.
COVID Protocol Follow
The people who has completed two doses of COVID vaccine and 15 days after vaccination will be granted permission after showing the certificate.
The person who have completed one dose or no dose of COVID vaccine has to produce the RTPCT negative test done before 72 hours, then only e-pass will be issued.
People from the state of Maharashtra, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh who have completed both the dose of vaccine have to produce RTPCT negative test report.
Number Of Persons Allowed To Visit Per Day
For the year 2021, the number of persons allowed to visit the different Chardham is restricted due to the COVID situation. Following is the list of Chardham and the number of persons allowed per day.
- Badrinath – 1000
- Kedarnath – 800
- Yamunotri – 400
- Gangotri – 600
