First Preference of Traveler : Maldives -The Emerging New Destination

Many countries across the world are opening their doors for international travelers. Covid-19 pandemic has changed the thinking of travelers about choosing their holiday destination. Earlier Europe was the hottest destination for Indian travelers but after COVID-19 pandemic travelers are searching new destination as an alternative to Europe. Among the new searched destination on Google search Maldives is one of the top destinations of attraction for 2020-2021. After months of COVID-19 pandemic shutdown flight have been resumed between India and Maldives under Air Bubble Program. Through this program Indian traveler can visit the beautiful and exotic Islands of Maldives.

The question arises why Maldives is one of the top holiday destinations after covid-19. In this article I’m going to discuss some important information about Maldives.

No need to Quarantine on arrival at Maldives

It is expected that before reaching to Maldives online health declaration form must be submitted. After reaching to Maldives travelers are not required to undergo quarantine process. While in some other countries it is compulsory. Only condition in Maldives is that travelers have to go straight to the resort or hotel previously booked without entering the capital city of Maldives-Male. Also, Travelers are not allowed to visit other places in Maldives directly on arrival.

Direct Flight from India To Maldives

There are number of low-cost direct flights flyingfromIndia to Maldives. These flights are operated from different parts of India like Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai.  The fare of the flights is affordable to the traveler as compared to the earlier fare before COVID-19 lockdown. The direct connectivity between India and Maldives also save’s time.

Only PT-PCR is Necessary

To maintain the safety of all, it is a mandatory requirement for all tourists to present a Negative Result Nucleic Acid Test (PCR test) for COVID-19 on arrival. The sample for the PT-PCR must be taken not more than 72 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure from the first port of embarkation Enroute to Maldives. Infants less than one year are not required the testing.

Visa on Arrival For Indians visiting to Maldives do not require pre-arrival visa. Indians are given a Visa on arrival at Male airport for 30 days limit. For obtaining on arrival visa one should have passport for 6-month validity and confirmed booking of accommodation. The facility is absolutely free of cost.

The answer to the question why travelers are giving preference to Maldives is simple. No quarantine is required on reaching to Maldives, only PT-PCR test report is sufficient. Direct flight saves money, days and time as well.
